What is the Longest Day?
In 2026, the summer solstice and Armed Forces Day come together for the return of our Longest Day Challenge.
This is your moment to push past limits. Every challenge feels impossible until you break through it, and you can break through it.
This June, set a personal best. Run, walk, ride, row, swim, climb, or dive - or support someone chasing their own goal.
Every effort helps raise vital funds for those who faced their own longest day.
Make this summer count. Make it your Longest Day.

Challenge Ideas
Here are a few ideas to inspire you to take part this June. You have the flexibility to customise the challenge to suit your ability.

Get Moving
Ready to challenge yourself? Run, walk, or cycle and beat your personal best—whether it’s for a day, week, or month. The choice is yours!

Virtual Missions
In celebration of WWTW’s 15th anniversary, join our virtual mission inspired by the 2011 North Pole Expedition. Walk, run, swim, read, or game your way to retrace their journey.

Want a New Challenge?
Looking for inspiration? Check out last year’s Challenge Calendar for ideas on hitting a new personal best. Many challenges feature the number 80, but feel free to customise them to your own goals!
Why take part?
Whether mentally, physically or socially wounded we support the most in need. They are the ex-service personnel who have fallen furthest from where they want to be and need a personalised programme to help them get back on their feet.
You will directly support our three core programmes of support; employment, mental health and support care coordination.
David’s Personal Best
Our Longest Day Campaign Ambassador David ‘Monkey’ Moncrieff served 22 years in the RAF and conducted tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After suffering a training accident resulting in a severe leg injury, David avoided a near amputation and went on to take part in the 2023 Invictus Games held in Düsseldorf, in both Rowing and Swimming.
This year, for his Longest Day Challenge, David is looking to surpass the personal best he set at the 2023 Invictus Games. With a month focused on consistency and striving to become the best version of himself every day, how will his times compare at the start and end of the month?
David’s journey is a powerful reminder that a personal best is not just about physical achievements—it’s also about pushing through obstacles, defying expectations, and constantly striving for improvement.
We’re back! Longest Day has evolved to become a powerful celebration of personal achievement, all in support of the veteran community. Let’s see what we can accomplish together...
